This video was originally a multi media project produced by Joyce Van Schaack for her degree of Masters of Arts in Secondary Education from California State University Northridge in January 1977. The original project included both photos and 8 mm movies shot by Jim Van Schaack, however college professors wanted to use the project to help teach the history of California, so it was made into a slideshow to make it as easy as possible for teachers to use in classrooms.
